A Stress is a reality. Happiness is like the elephant and the world is like the 7 blind men around the elephant, each with their own version of the leg, the trunk, the tail, the ears and the tusk etc of the elephant...happiness is elusive, intangible and does not have any yardstick with which it can be measured and hence calibrated. This led me to read up the 4 vedas, over 10 Upanishads, the itihasa and then listen to all the preachers...and yet remain like the blind man around the elephant...i discovered the basic need for search in the first place is dictated by the need for evidence... while the west believes that evidence is a must for the existence of anything, the east believes that existence precedes evidence. That led me to research the quantum theory and the neuron networks in the human body and i came away with a very granular understanding of the concept of "happiness". It helped that i have been part of the leadership team a microsoft India and i could delve deeper into the nuts and bolts of the problem. Let me discus the solution below. discussed below>

humans have 5 senses that are impacted by the environment around ourselves. These 5 senses perceive and impact the salts in our body that then in turn impact the endocrine system of our body. To illustrate this: With a bowl of Sambhar, the delicious tangy yellow lentil preparation on the table if one is asked to shut one's eyes for 2 minutes and pray. The mind now already aware of the Sambhar in front activates the salivating glands that get flooded in the expectation of the sambhar in the mouth. Similarly our sense of sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell activate our neuron networks to take over and control our responses. In the current day where social media networks and nearly all technology companies are vying for 'market-share' their target becomes the 'mind-share'. I attach a small compilation ( one of several such that i have created in my journey to demystify happiness.( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBS-YA-aSUU ). if the war outside is for the mind share the idea was to reclaim and protect that mindshare. This led me to read up on the mechanism of the brain. It turned out that the brain has two lateralizations. the right side and the left side. While the right side was all about the emotional side of life that is about intangible feelings, the left side of the brain was all about rational side of life or tangible feelings. This is segregated as heartful side and mindful side. that then led me to product design.

As humans we have 6 basic heartful and 6 basic mindful aspects that must be attended to and nourished equally. Problem of life, profession, health, money or relationships etc arises when we focus on only one or two of these aspects. The design had to appeal to the basic sensibilities of the average human mind. So we chose the facebook as a model. In order to reverse the. barrel of the telescope from allowing the senses to be impacted by the environment around, we created a tool that updates life just as it is updated in facebook. However before each post is submitted it asks two questions. 1. whether the post is private or public 2. what aspect of the individual's life does it belong to.? to answer the second question we give the user 12 choices. Heartful ( My conscience, My inhibitions, My ambition, My dilemmas, My Regrets & confessions, My ambition, , My commitments ) and ‘Mindful’ or ‘Rational aspects.’ (My family & pets, My health & Fitness, My documents, My wallet & Assets, My journeys & entertainment, My profession or vocation ). It is expected that the user would nit or may not know what to input under subjects such as "my conscience'or 'my inhibitions'...this will lead the user now to start using the web for her/his own purpose and discover what these mean; thus update one's life. For aspects that are updated regularly these remain green, the ones not updated for 1 week, 2 week or 3 weeks correspondingly turn yellow, red or grey spurring the user to update.

User Journey
- Steps which the user goes through as he/she uses the Product.
1. register 2. the user is then asked on the clapper board that is used for film shootings 2 questions: 1. How as your yesterday? 2. What is your forecast for today? the user is given 3 options to choose one from. these are 1. happy and productive 2. extremely busy or lazy and 3. could be a better day. Thus one question is answered based on reality ( question 1) and the second is a forecast. The user then starts updating life. This leads the user to the happiness index that illustrates the following results: 1. Happiness index: the variance between question 1 and question 2 ( real Vs forecast) for a selected period of time. This shows the variance between expectation and achievement. The two questions. now also assume significance since the user is likely to be answering these based on all parameters of her/his life ( 12 aspects) that he is updating ad keeping green. The second outcome that the app achieves is that it shows the user her/his mindshare. Mindshare is the % of updates in any given aspect versus the total updates for that period. This prompts the user to maintain a balance between his updates. That then ensures that the user leads a balanced life as the app hold a mirror to the user telling her/him of excessive or lower focus on aspects of one's life The user can invite friends and also plan an event with friends.

The validation for this has come from the Govt f india and a high level panel created to look into this based on which ALL INDIA COUNCIL OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION (AICTE) has now adopted this and issued directives to all the 11000 colleges with over 7 million students that it regulates that the app must be downloaded and used. AICTE will based on the app be announcing the happiness index of each college on an all india basis further boiling it down to states and districts. This is the only tool that addresses the social and emotional aspects of learning that has been taken cognisance of in the recently updated NEP 2020.
